hélianthe (エリオント, hélianthe) is an idol unit under the Aikatsu Academy! Streaming Club, consisting of Mieru Himeno, Meh Mamimu, Parin Wao and Taimu Rindou.

History

After Taimu Rindou's induction into the Aikatsu Academy! Streaming Club, it was announced on November 30, 2024 that the four members would officially debut as a unit at the club's first large-scale concert in March of 2025.

Their unit name and logo was revealed on January 4, 2025. Their first digital single as a unit, brilliant starlight, was released the following day on January 5.

The unit made their debut on March 29, 2025 with the concert hélianthe 1st LIVE.

• The age order of the members from oldest to youngest (Mieru, Parin, Meh, Taimu) is also the same as their height order from shortest to tallest.
• This is the third Aikatsu! unit to consist of four members, following S4 and M4, and the only four member unit not from Aikatsu Stars!
  • hélianthe's standard formation from left to right (Meh, Mieru, Taimu, Parin) follows the same idol type pattern (cool, cute, sexy, pop) as the 25th generation of S4 (Tsubasa, Hime, Yozora, Yuzu).

Etymology

• "Hélianthe" is the French name for Helianthus, a genus of flowering plants commonly known as sunflowers. The name represents the group's admiration towards idols who shine like the sun, and their own desire to grow and bloom to be able to shine upon those who support them.
  • The name is also likely an homage to Soleil, whose unit name is the French word for sun.
  • The initial characters of the members' surnames - Himeno (ひめの, Himeno), Mamimu (まみむ, Mamimu), Wao (わお, Wao), Rindou (りんどう, Rindou) - spell out "himawari" (ひまわり, "himawari"), meaning sunflower in Japanese.
