Shiori Motoya (本谷 栞) is a main character in the Aikatsu Planet! series. She is a student at Seirei Private High School. Shiori's avatar in Aikatsu Planet is Shiori.

Appearance[]
Shiori has dark brown eyes with a beauty mark next to her right eye. She has thin eyebrows. Her slightly wavy dark brown hair is at chest length and several hair is tied into upper crown braid, her bangs pinned back behind her head. Shiori is usually shown in her school uniform. Her avatar form before officially becoming an idol depicts her with bright green eyes.
Personality[]
Shiori is an academically distinct student and will take the time to research the things she's interested in. Shiori is also knowledgeable about the topic of idols, as even Mao relies on her when she first entered the idol world as Hana. Shiori is also very supportive of Mao and is willing to help Mao during her journey in Aikatsu! as Hana. Shiori also has a keen observation ability, as she can deduce that all of the clothes Mao picked during her time in MELTYHOUSE has bows in it. Shiori is also shown to be very hard-working and spares no effort when she aims for something, as seen when she decided to become an idol with the others, she trained non-stop and very hard to the point she successfully pulled off her debut performance.

- Shiori and Mao are childhood friends from primary school, and often hang out together. She respects the qualities that she doesn't have but Mao has. Shiori admires and supports Mao in becoming Hana, and in turn Mao relies on Shiori's help during her time doing Idol Activities. Shiori often accompanies Mao in Aikatsu Planet during her sessions and schedules. When Shiori informed of Mao and the others that she decided to become an idol herself, Mao was the person who helped her train for the audition. Shiori was also appointed by Mao to accompany her in announcing Hana's new user, as Shiori was the person that make Mao most calm and comfortable and enables Mao to be herself.
- Shiori knew Ruli through Mao as she often accompanies Mao during her activities as an idol. Shiori, alongside with Mao are impressed by Ruli's fashion skills. The two and Mao are friends.
- Shiori and Mao both admires Kyōko's lady-like and elegant personality, and is seen as a Yamato Nadeshiko. Just like other students in their school, Shiori strives to become as good as Kyōko. Like Mao, Shiori is taken by surprise when Kyōko's alter ego in Aikatsu Planet is revealed to be Beat, although her reaction isn't as intense as Mao's.

Motoya (本谷) - Moto (本 hon) means book and ya (谷 tani) means valley.
Shiori (栞) means bookmark.

- Her favorite things are mechanics and reading, her favorite subjects being history and Japanese.
- Her specialty is doing quizzes.
- Her catchphrase is "Now here's a question for you!" (さてここで問題です！ Sate koko de mondai desu!), which she says when quizzing others.
- It is implied she is not naturally athletic, as she admits to only having been able to leap over a vaulting box at its shortest height.
